William D. Johnson, Chairman
William D. Johnson, J.D., is an international corporate lawyer practicing in Los Angeles, CA. He holds both an undergraduate degree from Brigham Young University, where he majored in Japanese, and a law degree from Columbia University. He has been married for 30 years and has five children.
As Chairman of the American Freedom Party, he serves the purpose of speaking on behalf of the party, and championing its sensible and just policies before the American people. He is also, more than any other, responsible for safeguarding the course, values, and program of the party.
Thomas Hale, Chief
Thomas Hale was appointed to the position of Chief (CEO) of the AFP in August 2021. Not long after Thomas came to believe in White-positive ideals, he joined Identity Evropa (IE) in 2017, serving in their Northern California chapter for almost three years.
Thomas served with IE as well as its successor organization, American Identity Movement, up until its dissolution in mid-2020. During the chaotic time that followed, Thomas, along with his colleague John Fassbinder, rallied many of the former organizations’ members into a sustainable network.
Thomas, refusing to allow his fraternal activist community to fall into a cycle of inactivity and despair, quickly went about searching for a new direction; this search led him to the American Freedom Party in late-2020. Thomas spent nearly a year re-organizing and revitalizing the party, reforging it into a force capable of facing the challenges the nationalist movement currently faces. In recognition of his accomplishments, the AFP’s governing board appointed Thomas to the position of Chief, opening pathways for further progress and party reforms.Thomas possesses the leadership skills and the will necessary to lead the party in tomorrow’s battles.
Kevin B. MacDonald, Director
Kevin B. MacDonald, Ph.D., is a professor of psychology at California State University, Long Beach. MacDonald is the author of seven books on evolutionary psychology and child development and is the author or editor of over thirty academic articles. He received his B.A. from the University of Wisconsin–Madison in 1966, and he received an M.S. in Biology from the University of Connecticut in 1976. He earned a Ph.D. in 1981 (Biobehavioral Sciences) from the University of Connecticut.
As a director of the American Freedom Party, he influences the course of the party and provides guidance to both the chairman and the president.
Tom Sunic, Director
Tom Sunic, Ph.D. (www.tomsunic.com), is a former professor of political science, a scholar, a prolific writer and an accomplished linguist in Croatian, English, French and German. A number of themes emerge in his books and numerous essays: religion, cultural pessimism, race, liberalism, democracy, multiculturalism and communism. From the vantage point of a European-American observer who has experienced the reign of liberalism and communism on both sides of the Iron Curtain, Dr. Sunic offers insights into Western and post-communist and post-liberal societies and culture.
He received his B.A. from the University of Zagreb in Comparative Literature and Foreign Languages in 1977 and 1978. He received an M.A. in International Affairs from California State University, Sacramento, in 1985. He earned his Ph.D. in 1988 from the University of California, Santa Barbara.
He has been doing research on the meaning of modern political discourse and new forms of intellectual censorship.
James Edwards, Director
James Edwards is best known as the creator and primary host of The Political Cesspool Radio Program, an award-winning broadcast that has gained national attention for conducting interviews featuring columnist Pat Buchanan, author Jerome Corsi, rocker Ted Nugent, and countless other headliners and newsmakers. Mr. Edwards has made numerous appearances on CNN, while the show itself has been the subject of articles in the Los Angeles Times, the London Times, Newsweek, and many other major print publications.
James has been named an “Honorary City Councilman” by the City of Memphis, Tennessee, while his radio program received a certificate of recognition from the same city council for “Outstanding Contributions to the Community.” He has also served as a newspaper contributor and is a licensed pilot.
Cory A. Reeves, Director
Cory Reeves was appointed to the AFP Board of Directors in August 2021. He has previously served in national leadership positions with American white identity organizations Identity Evropa and American Identity Movement. During his time with these organizations, he fostered rapid organizational growth, donor relations, and activist campaigns throughout the country. Mr. Reeves’ professional military background also positions him as a forefront advisor to the party on matters related to foreign policy, national security, and technology.
Mr. Reeves is an U.S. Air Force veteran and graduate of the National Security Space Institute. He is a subject matter expert in areas related to satellite command and control, missile defense, space domain awareness, and sensitive reconnaissance operations. Throughout his nearly two-decade military career, Mr. Reeves led hundreds of U.S and allied armed forces personnel in the employment of air and space systems to meet Combatant Commander objectives. His government credentials included a Top Secret security clearance with access to Sensitive Compartmented Information, which opened doors to various intelligence agencies & classified programs. Mr. Reeves leverages his unique background and training to fortify nationalist networks and institutions both domestically and abroad.
John Fassbinder, Director
John Fassbinder was appointed to the American Freedom Party Board of Directors in August of 2021. He began his career in dissident politics at the age of 17, but was politically minded in identitarianism and nationalism ever since becoming interested in politics as a child. He joined Identity Evropa in 2018, quickly becoming an interviewer for the organization. This went until the launch of American Identity Movement, in which he earned his way into prominent leadership positions. He went on to reach the rank of Chapter Leader for the state of Connecticut, eventually encompassing all of New England, before finally reaching the rank of Regional Overseer for the entire North Atlantic region of the United States.
Fassbinder has led countless community building and cleanup projects across New England, and cares deeply about returning the region to its formal natural glory.
Apart from his leadership roles, Fassbinder actively supports and contributes to dissident organizations as a patron. Through his valuable leadership and political skills, he plans to be instrumental in bringing the AFP and the broader Dissident Right to new heights.
Paul Fromm, International Advisor
Paul Fromm is AFP’s contact in Canada.
Paul Fromm earned his Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts degrees in English Language and Literature from the University of Toronto and a Bachelor of Education at the University of Toronto. He did post graduate work at Webster College in St. Louis, Missouri and Waterloo University in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada. He spent 25 years as an instructor in the Ontario, Canada public school system. He is the director of the Canadian Association for Free Expression and a longtime advocate for free speech. He is widely traveled and lectures at events throughout the United States and Canada.
